Another use for this pump is to pressure test pipes and sewer lines as a hydrostatic test pump. The rotary-action roller principle is very economical, as it does not require check valves, while providing positive displacement characteristics with less friction and lower starting torque than other pumps. Roller pumps receive a fluid through the inlet port where it is captured and transported by the rollers, then released through the outlet port.
